description of different shots- VIDEO

Wide angle - this is a shot from a camera that allows you to see the whole image and the background with all of it in focus. this is due to adjusting the lens to make sure that the picture your trying to take is all in within the eye.

Close up - this is a shot of a close up. a close up shot is where you take a picture of someone or something very close therefore you do not see the background it is usually just the center of the object/thing.
you have to make sure you are in focus with the object to make this shot a success.

video clips

so this is me being stupid yes i had a rough day and no i do not look like this normally :/ anywhoooooooo, its a close up shot
so with a close up shot you have to make sure that the object you are focusing on is actual in focus, also try not to have as much background as usual this is so that you can clearly focus on the object in tact.

this is ella power catch her on my profile (: yes she is this ugly and no she didn't do this as a joke. anywhooooooo its a close up shot

To film this we used a flip camera as it was more suitable to walk round with due to its small and contempt facilities. I have posted this on my log just as a draft piece of filming as i was our first time using this piece of equipment.
I will be uploading new videos that i have filmed to show you my real attempts of different angles and different shots
such as:
pan left to right
pan right to left
close up
wide angle
tilt from top to bottom
tilt from bottom to top
these are all type of angle shots that i will soon be posting, as i will attempt them with a SONY HDR video camera which is a more technical camera that specifies in each of these shots. also i will be using a tripod to handle the camera easier.

health and safety - USING VIDEO

Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
The health and safety at work act provides rules and regulations about working safely within a public environment. (also including inside)  understanding that you are in public liability therefore make sure that you are aware of your surroundings. if you are unaware of the health and safety at work act then do not hesitate to look it up it may come in use!

when using a camera...

  • always make sure that if you put the camera down on a surface, that it is not in the way of other people such as in the middle of the floor, in the way of walk ways etc...
  • make sure that if there are cables attached that they are tucked away and not draping all over the floor, just incase people walk by them and trip over.
  • always turn the camera off when not in use
when using tripods...

  • make sure that when carrying the camera around it is not on the top of the tripod just for the safety of the camera falling off and losing 5000 of technical kit!
  • when not using the tripod always fold it away so that it is not spread out everywhere therefore there will not be any accidents.
  • make sure you put the tripod out of the way of walkways, just incase of an event of tripping over the tripod legs.

video techniques -INFO

We have been asked to write about the techniques on using a specific video camera which is the song HDR-FX1. 1st HDV 1080i camcorder. This camcorder has High Definition Video Handycam with 3 x 1 Megapixel. It also has a 12x optical zoom!

After doing this we have then been asked to use a flip camera which is a much smaller video camera which is not as fancy as the other one but it comes in great use when in transport. Just like the other camera it has HD quality and 2x digital zoom, a 2'screen and a maximum space capacity of 2 hours recording time.

We have been asked to produce a selection of different shots using this camera such as:

  • pan shot from left to right and then a different shot from right to left.
  • close up shot of someone's face.
  • a wide angle shot.
  • a tilt shot from high to low and then a different shot from low to high.
  • a shot which manual focuses on a person walking towards the camera and retaining focus.
  • A pull focus shot - focus changing from eg. a branch to a person.
We have to make sure we focus on the main elements which are; Reflection, line, verticals, colours, scale, opposites and frame.

My first photo-shoot - EVER

In my last project we had to make an album cover, to represent band photography. we had to research different artist photo-shoots and show what we would like ours to look like, and give examples as you will previously see on my blog.
I chose to do an artist photo-shoot instead of a whole band. I used a fellow college pupil to model for me in the studio.
setup...
  • I used a beauty light to expose the structure n her face
  • A fan to create the 'celebrity' look
  • Canon D 400 to capture my image
  • A chair - prop
I took several image but i am going to just upload a few of my favourites just for a little taster (;
(baring in mind this is my first ever photo shoot! and they have NOT been edited!... yet)
